The Story of Script Lasers, Inc.

Why We Started & How It All Began

I began my chiropractic career as an associate chiropractor at a chiropractic clinic in Rochester, MN. As a chiropractor in Minnesota you are required to have 20 hours per year of continuing education that has been approved by the MN Board of Chiropractic Examiners. I had just started my role as a new associate chiropractor and wanted to learn more so that I could help even more people get and stay better faster. Because of this, I attended a seminar that promised to do just that. The information was very good and I even still use some of those techniques today because they help my patients, especially those with disc problems. Another thing thing that I was introduced to again was the low-level laser therapy device, it was a newer model than the one I had seen at the chiropractic college I attended with a few differences.

It was amazing to see muscle strength return to weak muscles after shining the laser light on the nerve root supplying that area, many times the strength returned within 30 seconds. I saw that several times whenever I attended those seminars because the potential to help and heal patients seemed like it would improve what I was already doing. What I had seen and learned about low-level laser therapy was reported to owner of the clinic and after a few more discussions, he agreed that we should get one and give it a try.

The device arrived a few weeks later and was put into use right away. For someone who had only been able to use an intersegmental traction table, ultrasound, interferrential electric stimulation, (and later pulsed magnetic therapy) I was looking forward to seeing how well the different therapies worked compared to this new laser therapy. After a very short period of time I was convinced, and still am to this day, that low-level laser therapy out-performs them all. I was also able to help patients with things that I had not previously been able to before such as clearing up a MRSA infection that was not responding to drugs designed to deal with those infections.

Things were good, but over time I identified three problems with low-level (or cold) laser therapy that at the time didn't seem like they were going to go away. These relate to how much time is wasted during the day setting-up the device and applying the therapy for each patient, that while results were awesome they didn't last very long and were usually gone within a couple of days, and that low-level laser therapy is expensive for both the provider and the patient. It didn't seem like these problems were just going to disappear, they kept haunting me over the months and just had to get used to these downfalls. A Moment of Illumination

One day I was at home and walking from the kitchen into the living room of place where I used to live and something struck me at that moment - a solution to most of the problems that I had been facing with low-level laser therapy. What I saw was a small, lightweight device that was prescription-based and delivered cold laser treatments at home (three times per day for example) over a precription period. Staff time to set-up the device would be eliminated except for the initial prescription set-up plus, patients would be trained to apply the therapy themselves watching an instructional video online or giving them a simple one-page document telling and showing them how to use it. Both of these things give offices more available time to see more patients per day at their clinic.

Since that time I've been hard at work building the Script Lasers, Inc. prescription-based low-level laser therapy devices from the ground up. Every sub-system has been tested thoroughly before being considered for inclusion into the system. Three prototypes have been developed along the way, each being expanded (or upgraded) as needed changes arose along the development pipeline. In-clinic prototype teting began on March 22, 2017 to look for any additional bugs or changes that needed to be made as it is being used in real-world conditions treating real patients with real problems. We are now at the point where final tweaks are being done so that the final market-ready version is ready to go as soon as possible.

Now that patients are receiving more than one treatment per day for a period of time, their response to treatment is significantly better. This happens because of two things - it provides the cells more energy (in the form of ATP) to heal, plus, it re-trains their body to operate normally by keeping those amazing results happening on a consistent basis. Because they get and keep these results, you have happier patients who are pleased to refer their family and friends because you are able to get the results that the chiropractor or physical therapist down the street can't (since they chose not to use Script Lasers devices in their practice).

At Script Laser, Inc. it is our goal to improve low-level laser therapy, reduce the costs of both providers and patients, and increase both patient and practice outcomes. We will work diligently in achieving this goal to serve patients, providers and mankind. Check our Mission Statement

When time allows, I will add a few pictures of the prototypes that have been developed and tested.
